This is Oladipo’s first fully healthy offseason since after the 2017-18 season, when he made All-NBA third-team. If and when Tyler Herro enters the starting lineup, Oladipo and Gabe Vincent could engine Miami’s bench unit as a two-way spark plug.
He played in eight games with the Miami Heat last season, totaling 12.4 points, 2.9 rebounds and 3.5 assists in 21.6 minutes per game. He was one of Miami’s most productive bench pieces for Miami last postseason, averaging 10.6 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.3 steals on 36.8/27.4/79.2 shooting splits.
Miami owned Oladipo’s bird rights — so did not use its mid-level exception, which would’ve triggered the hard-cap for the deal — though there was serious speculation that Miami would lose Oladipo.
But it didn’t. Welcome back, Vic.
