“Venezuela’s Supreme Court judges are not legal, they are just pawns in Maduro’s chess game”: Former Supreme Court judge

August 15, 2024 by Hoops Hype

Miguel Angel Martin, political analyst and former judge of the Supreme Court of Justice of Venezuela, spoke on NTN24 about the “smokescreen” that Maduro’s Supreme Court of Justice is trying to implement to forget what it considered “electoral fraud” on July 28.

“There is collusion to keep Nicolas Maduro in power”“Martin told Channel Americas,” he said.

“The Supreme Court judges are not jurists, but mere pawns in the chess game set up by Maduro.”He confirmed.

On Sunday, July 28, after a historic and unusual day, Venezuelans expressed themselves at the ballot box, and although the forecast was in favor of the opposition, the regime’s National Electoral Council gave the “winner” to Nicolás Maduro, who is prolonging his dictatorship in Venezuela.

“The first bulletin that indicates a strong and irreversible trend. After counting 80% of the tables and with an electoral participation level of 59%, the results are as follows: Nicolás Maduro obtained 5,150,092 votes (51.1%), and Edmundo González, 4,445,978 votes (44.2%),” said Elvis Amoroso, president of the CNE.

Following what Amoroso said, several demonstrations were recorded in Venezuela in a large part of the national territory.

Since the protests began against the results read out by the president of the National Electoral Council, nearly 1,400 people have been arrested, according to Foro Penal.

Among those deprived of their liberty, without an arrest warrant, are human rights activists, election witnesses, lawyers, and demonstrators.

In the context of deteriorating living conditions in Venezuela, with more than 7.7 million citizens leaving their country, experts expect a new wave of migration from the Caribbean country.
