Miami Heat forward Nikola Jovic is expected to miss the Paris Olympics due to a fractured joint in his left ankle. Jovic had been in a boot, hoping to recover in time to join the Serbian National Team.
Jovic was originally injured during an offseason workout. The hope was that he would recover in time to play in the Olympics, but Jovic was held out of a recent exhibition game against France. Now, it appears that Jovic will miss this summer’s games.
Jovic started in 38 of the 46 games he played for Miami last season. He averaged 7.7 points and 4.2 rebounds in the regular season. Jovic then averaged 9.4 points and 6.6 rebounds while starting all five of the Heat’s playoff games in the first round.
