With the Super Bowl behind us and the NFL heading toward the 2025-2026 NFL season, I asked the following question-
What would you do with the 13th overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft if you were the GM for the Miami Dolphins?
In addition, I also put up a poll asking the following question-
If you were the Miami Dolphins GM what would you do with the teams 13th overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft?
The results of the poll are as follows-
45% or 146 of you chose-
Pick an interior offensive lineman.
35% or 114 of you chose-
Trade down and add as many picks as possible.
7% or 22 of you chose-
Pick a position that you did not list.
6% or 21 of you chose-
Pick an interior defensive lineman.
5% or 15 of you chose-
Pick a safety.
2% or 6 of you chose-
Use some of their draft capital with the first-rounder and trade up.
1% or 4 of you chose-
Pick a linebacker.
Of course, whatever the vast majority of us want to happen will not be the choice that “Too Far Outside Of The Box Grier” will likely make. Below are some of your answers and thoughts on the question of the day-
JKBMia, like me, sees trading down for value, if possible, as the best course of action.
I think trading down is the ideal option, but I don’t think it will present itself with any real value in this draft.
Trading down and drafting Booker is probably the best overall option.
If no trade down – Sit at 13 and take one of Starks/Campbell/Banks.
If they trade Tyreke and get back a premium pick (top 2 rounds) I could see them going with a WR or with Warren from PSU at that 13 spot.
MIAMI235, likewise, is on the trade-down bandwagon.
Trading down seems to make the most sense due to the amount of holes…..
This is how I have felt all along.
dedstrk316 sees the BPA concept coming into play.
I think they sign a guard or two in FA and they end up picking BPA more premium position type player.
finfanfromsiam is busy running all the simulations.
Doing multiple mocks, and will not help any AFC team move up, have gotten a a trade down with Atlanta and/or Arizona and got a 2nd rounder to go with a pick in the teens still. With the 2nd being around our pick at 48 can get IOL help there with both picks if need to(we do).
Dolphster wants the IOL from Bama.
Alabama Guard Tyler Booker, please.
SlayerNation1 has this front office in survival mode, meaning they possibly pick to excite the fans now vs. thinking long-term.
The braintrust picking will be in survival mode. Couple that with needs almost everywhere and anything is possible. A blue-chip OL seems more like a long term pick for the 1st Round.
My guess is a flashy BPA at 13. Jeanty would not surprise Me as the pick. Any pick at any position is a project for Miami because they are poorly run. Maybe a Defensive rookie would have a chance.
I will play Devil’s Advocate and make a case for BPA Skill Position and use the other 9 picks for more rational needs.
I am sure they don’t call it a War Room because it is too scary and may offend someone. From a psychological perspective, still fascinating to see it play out in the Dolphins’ Panic Room on draft night.
Luvs2drnk2.0 asks why and is down with trading down if they get a sweet haul in exchange.
So let me get this straight, so many people on this site give Grier so much grief and yet 40% of responders want to draft a G at 13? In the past 20 years only 9 G have been drafted in the 1st round. Only 2 of those with the 13th pick or higher (both top 10). Of those 9, only 5-6 became full time starters.
I’m fully on board with the trade down scenario, but only if it gains us a 2nd rounder this year or a high 3rd rounder this year and 2nd rounder next year. Otherwise, I’d be looking at S or ILB at 13. G in the 2nd, then a trade to get an extra 3rd to get a QB and DT in the 3rd round.
The consensus is to pick an offensive lineman or trade down in the first round. As always, I thank each of you who voted in our poll and answered the question of the day.
