Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill thinks Tua Tagovailoa might’ve had some assistance when it comes to his offseason body transformation.
Commenting on his quarterback’s physique Tuesday, the All-Pro said: “I saw Tua at the Pro Bowl I was kinda scared. He was fat as [expletive] … How skinny he got, what’s the stuff everybody is taking, Ozempic?”
Fellow receiver Jaylen Waddle got in on the action as well. Laughing, “I told him I miss chubby Tua. I’m not gonna lie,” when asked about it.
Jokes aside, the Miami QB says he cut the weight with nothing but diet and hard work.
“Diet and exercise,” Tua said, while also adding that he cut out sugars. “I feel better. Quicker on my feet. More nimble. I can extend plays more.”
Tua reportedly looked sharp during the team’s offensive drills while sporting his new slender build. But not everyone thinks it’ll be best for him.
Earlier this week, FOX Sports radio host Colin Cowherd said that he was a bit worried about Tua’s weight loss. Saying on his show:
“I saw something this weekend where Tua Tagovailoa showed up to a promotional event and looked noticeably thin. He’s listed at 225 and he looked to be about 200 pounds. And this is a pocket quarterback… It is a little alarming.”
Tua said that he and his new quarterback coach John Beck are working on adding more hip torque to this throws as he prepares for the season.
“Rubber-band theory,” the QB explained.
