We already know Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill is one of the best wide receivers in the game. We’ll soon find out if he’s also an elite recruiter.
On Wednesday night, Hill tweeted, “Just throwing this out there Michael Thomas in Miami would be [teary-eyed emoji].”
It’s pretty apparent that Hill would like to see Michael Thomas join the Dolphins in free agency.
The New Orleans Saints released Thomas this Wednesday with a post-June 1 designation. His reworked contract was specifically designed for him to hit the open market after the 2023 season ended.
Last week, Thomas took a shot at the Saints on social media. He made it known that he wasn’t a fan of the new culture being established in New Orleans.
“It’s because we not yes man so we cancers but under a winning coach we are looked at differently,” Thomas replied to a tweet about the Saints releasing him. “It’s a mentality that makes loser’s uncomfortable because they use to losing all they career.”
Thomas was on track to have a Hall of Fame career with the Saints, hauling in 470 passes for 5,512 yards from 2016-2019. His time in New Orleans was then derailed by an ankle injury suffered in Week 1 of the 2020 season.
The Saints were hopeful Thomas would have a bounce-back season in 2023. That never happened, though, as he finished the year with 39 catches for 448 yards and a touchdown.
If Thomas takes his talents to Miami, he won’t be asked to carry the receiving corps. Hill will be the unquestioned No. 1 wideout for the Dolphins.
