The NFL is set to play its first-ever game in Spain in 2025 and there’s already some speculation as to who might be playing at the iconic Santiago Bernabéu Stadium in Madrid.
According to Jonathan Jones of CBS, the Miami Dolphins have the NFL’s international marketing rights in Spain. As a result, one of those two teams are expected to be the early leader to serve as the designated home team for the game.
“The Dolphins and the Bears have international marketing rights in Spain, so would expect one of those teams is the early leader to “host” the Madrid game,” Jones wrote.
The Dolphins and Bears both have international marketing rights to both Spain and the United Kingdom, while the Dolphins also own rights in Brazil.

The Dolphins have accumulated significant airline miles on NFL international games through the years. They’ve competed in six games as part of the NFL International Series, going 1-5 in those games. Only the Jacksonville Jaguars have competed in more.
The Bears, meanwhile, have competed in two international games, both of which were in the United Kingdom. They are scheduled to play their third-ever international game in 2024 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.
Will either of those two teams be playing in Spain?
