Today’s slate of games winds down with tonight’s Sunday Night Football game between the traveling Atlanta Falcons and the Washington Commanders. With their 8-and-7 record, the Falcons began the day in first place in the NFC South. Despite their first-place position, Atlanta has yet to secure a spot in the playoffs. The Commanders entered the week in the seventh and last slot for the NFC playoffs. Like the Falcons, the Commanders must continue to win to ensure their spot in this year’s playoffs.

Atlanta Falcons (8-7) 1st NFC South @ Washington Commanders (10-5) 2nd AFC East
- Kickoff: 8:20 p.m. EST, Sunday, December 29th
- Location: Northwest Stadium, Landover, Maryland
- TV Broadcast: NBC
- FANDUEL Sportsbook betting Odds: Commanders -3.5; Point total: 46.5; Moneyline: Commanders -186 | Falcons +156
—My Pick: While I expect this game to be close, I expect the Commanders to win outright. The Falcons run game should be able to make headway against Washington this evening, helping to keep this a close game. The Commanders have, throughout this season, had difficulties against the run. Michael Penix Jr. should continue to show something in his second start, especially if his receivers can cut down on the multiple drops they had in last week’s game. With a close game in the end, I expect the Commanders to NOT cover the line in a narrow win.
