Saturday night’s playoff game between the Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs will be played in downright brutal conditions.
The National Weather Service announced this week that Kansas City’s wind chill will drop to -27 degrees on Saturday night. That is what we call “dangerously cold.”
Part of the reason it’ll be so frigid this weekend at Arrowhead Stadium is that there are wind gusts near 30 mph.
As of right now, the Dolphins-Chiefs game is on track to be one of the coldest games in league history.

Earlier this week, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid downplayed the weather and how much it’ll impact Saturday’s game.
“I don’t think you bank on all that. That’s where you get into trouble,” Reid said, via Chiefs Wire. “Guys are pretty resilient. And so you get you get yourself ready. And if it works out that way for you or whatever. I don’t know how to quantify that. You know, so I just say get ready for the game. Let’s do that. I don’t really care what goes on out here. We’re not having a snowball fight.”
If it truly feels like -27 degrees at kickoff, it’ll be impossible for either team to block out the frigid conditions.
Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. ET on Peacock.
