There was a serious scare only a few hundred yards away from MetLife Stadium ahead of today’s Jets-Dolphins game.
Earlier this morning there was an incident at the American Dream shopping center, which is situated very close to MetLife Stadium. There were reports that a bomb threat had been made.
Whatever the situation really was, it has now been resolved. A short while ago the New York Jets released a statement from the New Jersey State police confirming that the situation has been resolved and the stadium lots will open as normal.
“The New Jersey State Police confirmed that the situation at American Dream has been resolved. The stadium is not affected and our parking lots will open at 10am,” the team said in a statement.

Earlier this morning it was New Jersey governor Phil Murphy who gave the update that a bomb threat had been made and later resolved at the shopping center.
“The @NJSP is investigating a bomb threat at the American Dream Mall. If you’re on site, all customers, tenants, and employees should follow guidance from law enforcement and walk to the nearest exit and safely evacuate the building out of an abundance of caution,” Murphy posted on X.

“Update: The matter is still under investigation, but law enforcement has determined there is no imminent threat at American Dream at this time. The @NJSP has reopened the mall. We will remain vigilant to ensure everyone stays safe this holiday season,” he wrote about 40 minutes later.
