Jason Sanders has hit his stride as a Dolphin and is becoming one of the best kickers in the league.
When it comes to the Miami Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders’ career as a Dolphin, it can be summed up by the famous quote, “They had us in the first half, not gonna lie.”
The turbulence of Sanders’ seven-year career is synonymous with how Dolphins seasons go up when everything is easy and down when the going gets tough.
Sanders’ stats are solid concerning field goal percentage. It’s higher than the 74% average, but it falls short of the top kickers in the league around 87%.
Sanders sits with a career field goal percentage of 83.8% and 86.7% for the 2024 season, marking his highest score in the last four years, but ranks sixteenth in the NFL in 2024.
He was up to his old tricks at the beginning of the season but turned that right around in November, turning in a perfect 10-10 performance, earning himself the AFC Special Teams Player of the Month.

I don’t see this as a run or streak that’ll end up crashing back to earth. From what I’m seeing, Sanders looks as if he’s turned the corner as a kicker.
I was on him as bad as anyone and suggested the Dolphins him cut at times, but he’s changed my mind with his clutch kicks and overall kicking power. I have seen kicks from him lately that look good from 60+. When you have a kicker that’s locked in with a boot that can consistently hit 50+ yard field goals, you not only keep him, you pay him.

I’ll give you that he’s been streaky all his career, but as I said, I think he’s finally gotten over the hump and is as confident as ever. When you see it, you see it. I haven’t been a fan of his for a while, but he’s made me and most of the fanbase a believer. I project him to be a big part of the Dolphins scoring over the last month on the road in the cold.
There’s going to be games decided by a field goal, and Sanders is now one of the top kickers in the league in clutch time. Thought I would never say that, but here we are.

Last week against the Jets, per PFN365, “Sanders kicked four field goals in Week 14, including a 57-yarder at the end of the first half and a 52-yarder on the last play of regulation to send the game to overtime.”
Jason Sanders is at the top of his game right now, and this is my apology letter to him. He has become one of the game’s best, and I no longer get anxious when the Dolphins go to kick a field goal.
That’s the best compliment a player can get from a Dolphins fan, given the continuous Sunday trauma, and see Sanders continuing his high-level play over the rest of the season. The Sanders experiment was a success.
