Veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. has at least one free agent offer on the table, and it’s from the Miami Dolphins.
Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel told reporters at the annual league meetings in Orlando on Monday that Miami officially offered Beckham a contract after he visited the franchise last week.
“Things went great with him,” McDaniel said of the visit, via the Miami Herald. “We did make him an offer, and business takes time, especially with players such as Odell, who’s had a phenomenal career, still has really good football in front of him and has options. So, I think those conversations will be ongoing. We’ll see where they go.”
Miami already has Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle locked in as its top two wide receivers, forming one of the league’s top duos. Beyond that though, there is not much depth.
Braxton Berrios returns as a veteran in the slot, but Cedrick Wilson Jr., who was the Dolphins’ No. 3 wideout in 2023, signed a free agent deal with the New Orleans Saints.
That’s where Beckham could come into play. After missing the entire 2022 season while recovering from ACL surgery, he played in 14 games for the Baltimore Ravens in 2023, catching 35 passes for 565 yards and three touchdowns.
Beckham officially said goodbye to the Ravens on social media last week.
“Swea on everything I appreciate the Flock more than yall could EVER imagine. Did everything I could wit the opportunities I had. Wish I got to do it big for yall 💍. Thank you for the Vibez! To the City of Baltimore I fxck wit yall forever FRRRR. And most importantly to my brothers over there this shxt a lifetime sentence, I love yall! BiggestTruzzz 🤞🏾🫶🏾 📞” he wrote.
