Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa enters a pretty pivotal year of his career in 2024.
This will be the fifth season of his NFL career and he continues to look for a long-term contract. Tagovailoa helped the Dolphins make the playoffs last season and head coach Mike McDaniel likes the progress that he’s been making.
“It’s been very exciting because at this point, we’re like, ‘Alright, let’s really push ourselves to challenge this guy because all he ends up doing is rising to the challenge with what we’ve been asking him to do,” McDaniel said, (first transcribed by On3).
Tagovailoa played in every game for the Dolphins in 2023, finishing with 4,624 yards through the air, 29 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions. He also completed 69.3% of his passes.
His 29 touchdowns were a career-high, as were his 4,624 passing yards.
He’ll now try and help the Dolphins end their long playoff-win drought. They’ve made the playoffs in their last two seasons but haven’t won a playoff game since 2000.
The Dolphins will start the 2024 season against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 8.
