Jaylen Waddle is officially questionable for Sunday after suffering a knee injury against the Houston Texans.
The Miami Dolphins found rhythm with at least 29 points in four of the last six weeks, but there’s always room for growth — especially with a playmaker like Jaylen Waddle potentially returning to the lineup. Waddle, who missed last week’s win over the San Francisco 49ers, returned to practice on a limited basis Thursday and Friday after getting hurt against the Houston Texans on Dec. 15.
“I feel solid. It’s always good to go back out there and get with the guys and practice,” Waddle said Friday. “I ain’t going to lie, I’ve never dealt with something like that. So I really didn’t know but (was) praying for the best.”
Waddle was carving opposing defenses for three weeks before the injury, catching 21 of 25 targets for 296 yards and a touchdown. He played 26 snaps against the Texans in Week 15 before a defender fell into his knee while blocking downfield.

“I feel good,” Waddle said when asked if healthy enough to play. “They kind of limited me a little bit, but for the most part got through everything. They wanted me to hold back some parts. There is always a chance, always a chance.”
The Dolphins have slim playoff odds due to two three-game losing streaks earlier in the season, but Waddle sounds like someone expecting to return this season, even if mathematically eliminated from the postseason.
“We got the Browns that we have to take care of,” Waddle said. “A good group so we’re definitely not looking over them. We’re just trying to go out there, play our ball and get the dub.
“We’ve got to go out there and play regardless [if eliminated from the playoffs].”
