Somehow, our Miami Dolphins made it to this Sunday with their playoff hopes still alive, even if their chances are on life support. According to the NFL’s official website, the Dolphins’ chances of making the playoffs sit at 10 percent before this afternoon’s early slate of games. Their chances drop to less than 1 percent with a loss and rise to 15 percent with a win. Miami managed to stay barely alive in the playoff hunt with their win last weekend over the San Francisco 49ers, 29 to 12.
Today’s opponent, the Cleveland Browns, has already been eliminated from the playoffs with a record of 3 and 12, giving them nothing to play for outside of playing spoilers or personal pride. The Browns are amidst a four-game losing streak, including a blowout loss to the Cincinnati Bengals last weekend, 24 to 6. Cleveland has managed only 13 points in its previous two games, which also included a loss two weeks ago to the Kansas City Chiefs, 21 to 7.
