A first-half injury to Miami Dolphins cornerback Eli Apple has forced backup Ethan Bonner into action in their playoff game against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Bonner, a rookie undrafted free agent out of Stanford, has become notable this season for one unique reason: His skin tone. When he made his debut this season he became the first white cornerback since Jason Sehorn in 2002 to see the field in an NFL game.
As a result, Bonner has become something of a meme in the NFL and fans have had all kinds of fun with it:

“The streak is over! Ethan Bonner becomes the first white NFL corner since Jason Sehorn in 2002,” one user wrote.
“Ethan Bonner is in for Eli Apple. Cannot believe I’m writing those words in a playoff game,” wrote another.
“ETHAN BONNER ITS YOUR TIME. WHITE CORNERBACK ALERT,” a third user replied.
But it was Will Compton who has been getting the most mentions due to comments he made on the topic a while ago.
“The amount of texts I just got about Ethan Bonner going in the game,” Compton wrote.
The game is being played on Peacock.
