Zach Wilson, James Daniels, Malik Washington and others get new numbers from Dolphins.
To take a break from the constant 2025 NFL Draft coverage that is rightly dominating the news ahead of the start of round one Thursday night, the Miami Dolphins took to social media on Wednesday to announce numerous new jersey numbers for their recent acquisitions in addition to some veteran players as well.

The first number (literally) that immediately stands out is that of recently signed quarterback Zach Wilson. Wilson will wear #0 — a move that was most recently done by Marcus Mariota, although the quarterback did switch his number before the start of the regular season.
Malik Washington will switch to #6, while another Washington — Tahj Washington — will wear Malik’s former number, #83.
Miami’s most prominent offseason addition, offensive guard James Daniels, will wear #78. While another recently signed offensive linemen, Larry Borom, will wear #79.
Nick Westbrook-Ikhine — a former undrafted free agent wide receiver of the Tennessee Titans — will wear #18 in Miami.
On the defensive side of the football, defensive backs Ifeatu Melifonwu and Artie Burns were assigned #26 and #23 respectively, while newly signed linebacker Willie Gay Jr. will wear #40.
Soon after the 2025 NFL Draft is completed, the Dolphins will announce the number choices for their rookie crop, and we will be sure to keep you informed with all of the numerical madness when that announcement is made.
