NFL pass rusher Calais Campbell is taking his talents to South Beach.
Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, Campbell is signing with the Miami Dolphins. It’s a little bit of a homecoming since he played his college football at Miami.
Campbell was one of the top free agents still available after spending the entire 2023 season with the Atlanta Falcons. He played in all 17 games, finishing with 56 total tackles, 6.5 sacks, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery, and a pass defended.
Before that, he spent three seasons with the Baltimore Ravens and three with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He spent the first nine seasons of his career with the Atlanta Falcons after they drafted him in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft.
He’ll bring an added presence to their defensive line and in the locker room as the Dolphins try and take that next step in 2024. They’ve made the playoffs in each of the last two seasons but haven’t won a playoff game since 2000.
In 244 career games, Campbell has compiled 865 total tackles, 105.5 sacks, 17 forced fumbles, 13 fumble recoveries, three interceptions, and 58 passes defended.
