Chris Shula, the grandson of legendary NFL coach Don Shula, has a golden opportunity to earn a significant promotion this offseason.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, the Dolphins will interview Shula for their opening at defensive coordinator this Thursday.
This would be an incredible gig for Shula considering his grandfather coached in Miami for the majority of his Hall of Fame career.
Shula has been steadily climbing the ladder with the Rams over the past few years. After spending several years as a linebackers coach, he earned the title of pass rush coordinator for the 2023 season.
At 37 years old, Shula has plenty of room to grow into an elite defensive mind. Whether or not the Dolphins are willing to give him the job is unclear at this time though.

Miami is looking to replace Vic Fangio, who left the Dolphins to become the defensive coordinator of the Eagles earlier this offseason.
The Dolphins haven’t just shown interest in Shula for their opening at defensive coordinator. Last week, they met with former Chargers head coach Brandon Staley.
