The Miami Dolphins are scheduled to pick No. 13 overall in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft. With Chris Grier set to return as the team’s general manager, he’ll be the man in charge of the war room for a tenth straight year on draft day. While his full administrative rule came in 2019 when Mike Tannenbaum was fired as executive vice president of football operations, Grier’s presence in the team’s front office dates back to 2000.
Over his nine drafts as general manager, Grier has picked good players more often than not in the first round. That doesn’t mean he’s been perfect, though, and there’s been an issue for the team in retaining those players. Multiple Dolphins first-rounders have eventually become key players elsewhere.
