Tua Tagovailoa did not finish the 2023 season strong for the Miami Dolphins, throwing five interceptions in his final two regular season games and Saturday’s playoff loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
The 2020 first-round pick now enters the offseason heading into the final year of his rookie deal and with questions in the air about his future in Miami.
Meeting with the media on Monday, Dolphins general manager Chris Grier said he has had “good conversations” with Tagovailoa’s agent and indicated he would like to keep the signal caller in South Florida for multiple years.
“The goal is to have him long term here playing at a high level,” Grier said, via Omar Kelly.

Tagovailoa finished the regular season with 4,624 passing yards, 29 touchdowns and 14 interceptions, all career-highs. He threw for 199 yards, one score and one interception against the Chiefs.
“I don’t feel any pressure at all,” Tagovailoa said after the game about his mindset heading into the offseason.
“I have full trust in myself. I have full trust in what I’m capable of doing for our organization. Outside of that we’re focusing on tonight and what happened. We’re going to simmer on this and see what we can do to get better from it going into next year.”
