The Miami Dolphins have no interest in trading star wideout Jaylen Waddle.
General manager Chris Grier made that very clear when he met with the media on Wednesday.
“No thoughts of trading Jaylen Waddle. He’ll be around here for a long time,” Grier said.
This shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. Waddle makes the Dolphins a better team when he’s in the lineup and forms a formidable duo alongside Tyreek Hill.
Waddle’s only been in the league for three seasons but he’s already one of the best wideouts in football. He’s compiled three 1,000-yard seasons and finished the 2023 season with 72 receptions for 1,014 yards and four touchdowns.
His best season (so far) came in 2022 when he finished with 75 receptions for 1,356 receiving yards and eight touchdowns.
The Dolphins recognize how good he is and don’t want to move him for the sake of it.
They want to build around him since he’s one of their core players. We’ll see what the Dolphins have planned for this offseason once free agency gets underway in a couple of weeks.
