The Miami Dolphins were able to easily dispatch the hapless New York Jets without the services of injured wide receiver Tyreek Hill. But they would much rather have him against the NFC East-leading Dallas Cowboys.
On Friday, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel had a promising update on Hill. McDaniel told the media that Hill has had no setbacks with his ankle injury this week and is optimistic that he’ll be good to play against Dallas this weekend.
Hill is the NFL’s leading receiver with 97 receptions for 1,542 yards and 12 touchdowns. He is vying to break the NFL single-season receiving yardage record and potentially become the first player in history with 2,000 receiving yards.
But the missed game against the Jets set him back a step. He now needs 422 yards to tie Calvin Johnson’s single-season receiving yards record and 458 to become the first player with 2,000.
He has three games to do so.

But the Miami Dolphins play some tough teams that might really make it hard for Tyreek Hill to get that record.
They play the Dallas Cowboys, followed by the AFC-leading Baltimore Ravens and finish the season against the surging Buffalo Bills.
Will Tyreek Hill break the record?
