The Miami Dolphins need to address their offensive line. On day one of the 2025 free agency period, they have done just that.
The Miami Dolphins have addressed one of their top needs heading into the start of the 2025 NFL free agency period, agreeing to terms with guard James Daniels. SB Nation’s consensus free agency rankings listed Daniels as the fourth-ranked guard on the free agency market this year. Tom Pelissero was the first to report the signing.
Pelissero added shortly after that Miami was not done addressing their needs on the line, adding tackle Larry Borom as well.
Daniels was selected in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Chicago Bears, playing for them through the 2021 season. He primarily played left guard for Chicago, though he did spend some time at center and right guard. He played the last three seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, including last year when he was limited to four games due to an Achilles tear. He has played in 90 games during his seven seasons, starting 84 of them.
Borom was a fifth-round pick of the Bears in 2021, spending the four years with Chicago. He has played in 47 games, starting 27 of them, during his career, playing both tackle and guard.
Ian Rapoport added to Pelissero’s report, indicating Miami signed Daniels to a three-year, $24 million contact.
The Dolphins added quarterback Zach Wilson earlier ion the first day of the league’s negotiating period. The official start to free agency is at 4 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday.
