Welcome to the Splash Zone, the quickest way to get your day started off right. We bring you a rundown of Miami Dolphins news from the last 24 hours.

The Miami Dolphins, like the rest of the NFL, began to talk to free agents yesterday. While the 31 other clubs were busy signing players the Dolphins decided to take the sit on your hands approach and made their first move six hours into the legal tampering period. Their first reported signing of the new year will be quarterback Zach Wilson, who was most recently with the Denver Broncos. Wilson has the physical tools, but hasn’t put it all together yet. Perhaps he will continue the trend of former New York Jets quarterbacks doing well in other places. We can only hope so.
But Chris Grier decided to make his biggest move later in the night by signing guard, James Daniels. He was considered one of the top guards on the market, despite tearing his Achilles last year in week 4 as a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Daniels is a very clear upgrade over what the Dolphins had at guard last season and let’s hope he is somewhat fully healthy when he puts the pads back on.
A short time later, Grier decided he wasn’t done on the offensive line and added Larry Borom. He will most likely server as the Dolphins new swing tackle as he has played on both sides of the offensive line. Or perhaps they’ll slide him into guard.
You can check out that story here, and the rest of the day’s round-up below.
