In a few years we may look back on this Chiefs-Dolphins playoff game not for the action on the field but for the wild scenes on the sidelines and in the stands.
The game at Kansas City’s Arrowhead Stadium is being played in negative-4 degree temperatures with the windchill factor dropping the temperature to double-digits below zero.
Nevertheless, some players and fans have tried to prove their mettle by dressing light or removing articles of clothing altogether. Others have fallen victim to excess ice in places they’d rather not have it.
For head coach Andy Reid, the cold weather has caused the tiny droplets of sweat on his mustache to freeze over, turning his whiskers into an icicle:

Thankfully nobody appears to have gotten seriously injured yet from playing in frigid temperatures like this.
The action on the field doesn’t seem to be as adversely affected by it as many have thought it would either. The Chiefs and Dolphins have combined for 23 points in the first half – putting them on pace to match the projected over/under of 43.5 points despite some analysts projecting that it might be a very low-scoring affair.
The game is being played on Peacock.
