The first-ever twelve-team College Football Playoff continues this afternoon with a first-round game between the SMU Mustangs and the Penn State Nittany Lions. Both teams made it to this game after losing their conference championship game. Penn State lost the Big 10 championship game to the Oregon Ducks, 45 to 37. The Mustangs dropped the ACC championship to the Clemson Tigers, 34 to 31.
