Panini America hosted Braxton Berrios along with several other NFL players and draft prospects at the Panini Prizm VIP event in Las Vegas ahead of Super Bowl Weekend.
During this event, Berrios got to see himself on a Panini trading card for the first time and it brought back memories from his card collecting days. We asked Braxton if he was a collector as a kid in which he replied “yeah for sure, I was actually really into Pokemon too”.
Because the free agent wide receiver brought up Pokemon, we of course had to ask which Pokemon he thinks he has the most in common with. While he initially said Pikachu, he soon realized that he is way more powerful than the one-foot-four yellow creature and changed his answer.
Before we could even ask who the Charizard (the most powerful Pokemon) of the NFL is he stated that he in fact was the Charizard of the NFL. Luckily we caught this part of the interview on tape and posted to TikTok.
While many may have expected the “Charizard of the NFL” to be a larger player such as Aaron Donald or Nick Bosa, Berrios had no problem naming himself the top dog when it comes to Pokemon.
No matter what age you are, trading cards are just a part of life. Whether you like to look at them, trade them, or play a game with them, trading cards are for everybody.
