Social media starlet Alix Earle did a little Q&A with her boyfriend, wide receiver and kick returner Braxton Berrios, about Berrios’ NFL season. During the Q&A, they discussed some choice comments by a “very mean girl.”
During the latest episode of her Hot Mess podcast, Earle talked to Berrios about one person commenting that he was “dropped from the Dolphins” – a remark which made Berrios literally laugh out loud.
“Another question I feel like we see on the internet, which we can clarify for everyone — this girl, the one who always makes the videos, that’s always very mean, she was like, ‘Braxton Berrios got dropped from the Dolphins’,” Earle said, to Berrios’ amusement.
The comment was made in response to a post Berrios made on Instagram announcing the end of the season and his contract with the Dolphins being up. Berrios explained that it’s a post he makes every year to mark the season that was. He made it clear that he wasn’t “dropped,” but is just heading to free agency and will either be back with the Dolphins if they want to sign him, or he’ll go elsewhere.
“Now anything can happen,” he said. “I can obviously very well go back to the Dolphins, I can go somewhere else. But the fact of the matter is, all of that — not dropped, entering free agency – so is 20 percent of NFL players.
“It’s just part of how it goes when your contract is up with that team.”
Berrios had 27 receptions for 238 yards and a touchdown for the Dolphins in 2023. He earned First-Team All-Pro honors as a kick returner for the New York Jets in 2021.
