A massive 6’4” 300lb lineman, Sparks projects as a Guard or Center at the next level. He plays some Tackle in HS, but that’s normal for big dudes who can move. Sparks’ best and future position in interior OL, and that’s where Miami intends to play him.
Like Miami’s last 4 commits in the class of 2026 — OT Joel Ervin, RB Javian Mallory, OT Ben Congdon and CB Jaelen Waters — Sparks’ commitment to Miami came on the back of an unofficial visit to Coral Gables. Sparks spent multiple days in Coral Gables last week, seeing how things work and getting to know the coaches and program. After returning home to Jacksonville, Sparks decided he’d seen enough and committed to The U.
On the field, Sparks is a very good player. He’s started for the last 3 years at one of Florida’s best HSFB programs, helping them to great success along the way. He plays with a nasty streak which will come in handy as he continues to develop. He’s not the biggest player in the world, but Sparks has good mobility and strength, and plenty of potential for future development as well.
Sparks is the second 3-star rated player committed in Miami’s 2026 recruiting class, joining Joel Ervin (a player Miami and others believe is under ranked at the current juncture). Sparks committed to Miami over offers from Florida State, Vanderbilt, North Carolina, UCF, and Georgia Tech.
Sparks is the 8th commit in Miami’s 2026 recruiting class. He joins LB Jordan Campbell, CBs Camdin Portis and Jaelen Waters, QB Dereon Coleman, OT Ben Congdon, RB Javian Mallory, and OT Joel Ervin as commits in this class.
Welcome to the U, J.J.!
