Miami heads up into enemy territory to get a big (I mean BIG), talented lineman to keep the Wall of Mirabal going well into the future.
On Monday evening, Miami secured their 4th commitment of the 2026 recruiting class when Zoar (OH) Tuscarawas Valley 4-star OT Ben Congdon announced his intention to play for the Hurricanes!
All about The U! Canes family let’s go to work ️
I need to give a shoutout to my family and @DJRSwework for helping me get here. There is no where else to go but up!@coach_cristobal @CoachMirabal @AlexMirabal_ pic.twitter.com/DVsVRMzKmy

A massive 6’8” 285lbs, Congdon is an accomplished lineman on both sides of the ball. He has played both LT and RT on offense, and interior DL on defense. As noted above, Miami views Congdon as an offensive lineman in the future.
On top of his stellar play on the gridiron, Congdon is an accomplished wrester. That combination of size, strength, and balance has long been something that OL coaches have viewed as a bonus for recruits, and Congdon is no different.
This is a big win for Miami and the 2026 recruiting class. Mirabal, Cristobal, and company made Congdon feel like a priority, and built a strong relationship over many months. Many other top teams were chasing Congdon, including Penn State, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. Despite the other interest, Congdon visited Miami on Monday for the first day of Spring Practice, and the deal was sealed.
Three-star OL Ben Congdon on his commitment to Miami:

As far as his fit on the roster moving forward, Congdon is probably a Right Tackle or gigantic Guard. He plays HSFB at a smaller program, and will need to take some time to develop his skills at the college level. With Mirabal and Cristobal’s stellar track record of identifying and developing Offensive Linemen, this should be a seamless fit for all parties.
Congdon is the 4th commit in Miami’s 2026 recruiting class. He joins LB Jordan Campbell, QB Dereon Coleman, and CB Camdin Portis (yes, that’s the son of Clinton Portis) in this class for Miami. You can find more narrative about those players here.
For a better look at the player Miami is adding in Congdon, check out the HUDL highlights below. He’s big #58 who’s manhandling opposing players on both sides of the ball, in case you couldn’t tell.
