The Canes end their losing streak against a terrible FSU squad.
The Miami Hurricanes beat the hated Florida State Seminoles tonight in Hard Rock Stadium, 36-14. The Canes remain undefeated at 8-0, while the ‘Noles are 1-7, eliminated from bowl contention, and are a complete and utter disaster. I love it.
Let’s get to the three stars of the game.
1. Cam Ward
Miami’s signal caller had his worst statistical game of the season tonight. I don’t care. Cam had a great opening drive for a touchdown. He threw the ball away several times instead of trying to play hero ball. He made plays with his legs. He took a few sacks, as tough as it was. Cam Ward showed what kind of leader he was tonight. I loved it. He should still be the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy. He is the quarterback of an 8-0 team favored to win the ACC. I’ll take it.

2. Mark Fletcher Jr.
The dynamic running back did his best work of the night on Miami’s first drive, capping it off with a 1-yard touchdown run. The touchdown was extra special because Fletcher lost his father this week. Thoughts and prayers are with the Fletcher family. Mark is an awesome kid and great football player. He finished tonight with 15 carries for 71 yards and the aforementioned touchdown.

3. Kiko Mauigoa
Miami’s middle linebacker made his presence felt in a game where the the defense was just okay. He had a couple big pass break-ups and didn’t give up any big plays in the middle of the field. Side note: I hope Wesley Bissainthe is okay. I love the two of these guys as a linebacker combination.

Honorable mention:
Isaiah Horton – Miami’s big wide receiver had some big catches tonight. He led the Canes with 6 catches for 65 yards.
Damien Martinez – This dude just keeps on pounding and getting better. He led the Canes in rushing tonight with 15 carries for 148 yards and 2 touchdowns.
