Miami is set to lose one of its quarterbacks heading into the 2024 season.
According to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, quarterback Jacurri Brown plans to enter the transfer portal. It opened on Tuesday and will remain open for the next two weeks (Apr. 30).
Brown has spent the last two seasons at Miami and has completed 62.25% of his passes for 411 yards, four touchdowns, and four interceptions.
He played against Rutgers in the Pinstripe Bowl and compiled 181 yards through the air, a touchdown, and an interception.
He was part of the 2022 recruiting class and was a four-star recruit and the No. 23 recruit in his home state (Georgia), per 247Sports composite rankings. He was also the No. 17 quarterback and the No. 263 overall recruit in the nation, regardless of position.
Brown was Miami’s third and fourth-string quarterback during spring practices and wants to go to a program where he has the chance for more playing time. He wasn’t going to get any since the program already has Cam Ward and Reese Poffenbarger.
He still has three years of eligibility remaining.
