IIIIIIIIIIIIITTTTTTTTT’SSSSSSSS MONDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And you fine, wonderful Miami Hurricanes-loving folks know what that means. Let’s put on our Miami Hurricanes soccer jerseys, jump over those orange and green walls, climb into the vents, and crawl through the tunnels of Miami Hurricanes-related thought sprawling through my mind.
1) And yes I’m making reference to whatever that absolute shit show nonsense was last night at Hard Rock Stadium. I don’t know for sure if the blame lies mostly on CONMEBOL, CONCACAF, local authorities, or all of the above to varying degrees, but the destructive disaster that overtook Hard Rock Stadium and the lack of law enforcement, security, and or other authoritative presence was simply baffling. People spending thousands of dollars on tickets were not allowed to enter because morons broke in and even crawled through vents to get there. Those who did get in found people without tickets in their seats and not willing to move. I would be physically removing people from my seats if they were squatting in them after I found my way in if I’d paid that much.
But this is what really chaps my ass though.

Enough. Don’t let soccer crap up my stadium anymore, please. Yes, I know it has to be dealt with for the World Cup. After that? No. Freaking. More.
2) For those who’ve been waiting, say no more. EA Sports College Football 25 is officially here. I have been playing as the 2013 Canes for basically the last decade on PS3 in the 2014 version of the game. It’s pretty much the only reason I haven’t boxed up my PS3 and put it in the attic. Well, now I can do it. Of course, I have to buy a PS5, but I’m going to make that investment this week, I do believe.
3) The game has been released, and a number of Canes players’ rankings have been revealed. I guess I’m a little bit surprised at Cam Ward being 89 overall. I kind of thought he’d be in the 91-92 range, but it wasn’t an egregious slight, at least. I will say that they got at least one thing spot on. Chris Johnson, Jr. earned the top spot on the team (and one of the top ones in the entire game) with a 98 speed rating. I used to absolutely cook with smaller, faster guys out of the backfield on CFB 14, so I’m curious to see if I can still do that in the new game with a player like him.
Damien Martinez (91) and Xavier Restrepo (90) are the Canes’ top rated offensive players. Rueben Bain, Jr. (90), Elijah Alston (85), and Francisco Mauigoa (84) are Miami’s top defenders.
Man, I can’t wait to get my hands on this and get a new era of online Miami football going again in my household.
Go Canes!
