Jai Lucas and Miami have landed a commitment from Slovakian wing Timotej Malovec, per Jonathan Givony of ESPN.
The 6-foot-9 forward took part in the 2024 NBA Draft combine before withdrawing from the draft pool. He’s played the past two seasons with Mega Superbet in the ABA League. In the 2024-25 season, Malovec averaged 5.6 points and 3.1 rebounds per game while shooting 35.6% from 3-point range.
Malovec is regarded as one of the top international prospects going the college route. He will turn 21 next week. His highlights can be found here.
Miami now has six players for next season’s roster, including Malovec, transfers Ernest Udeh, Malik Reneau, Tre Donaldson and Tru Washington, as well as a class of 2025 prospect Dante Allen. Lucas is building a whole new team after taking the Miami job in early March.
