The big Miami-Florida State game has been a dogfight from the get-go, but Miami quarterback Emory Williams may have paid an excruciating price for keeping the team in the game.
Late in the fourth quarter with the Hurricanes trailing 27-20, Williams tried running the ball up the left side to make a play. But with several FSU players bearing down on him, he got taken down and several players fell directly on his arm.
Replay of the play shows that Williams’ arm got mangled pretty gruesomely and he was in so much pain that he couldn’t even get off the ground. He had to be carted off with his arm placed in a massive sleeve to protect it from any further damage.
Fans were so horrified by the injury that they practically begged ESPN and ABC on X to stop showing the footage:

Williams was obviously unable to continue and so the Hurricanes put in Tyler Van Dyke to finish the game. Unfortunately, Van Dyke threw an interception on one of the ensuing plays, effectively ending the game.
FSU won the game 27-20.
We wish Emory Williams all of the best in his recovery from that injury.
