As for the ACC Opener for Miami, it’s a big one.
This year’s ACC opener will be on the road against the rival Florida State Seminoles on October 4th.

While the game time and TV coverage for this game will be announced during the season, this now gives clarity to the first 6 weeks of the 2025 season for the Canes.
The non-conference schedule for Miami has been set in stone for a while. Those 4 games, in order, are:
- vs Notre Dame, Sunday, August 31st, 7:30pm, ABC
- vs Bethune Cookman, Saturday, September 6th, Time/TV TBA
- vs USF, Saturday, September 13th, Time/TV TBA
- vs Florida Gators, Saturday, September 20th, Time/TV TBA.
With the announcement that the ACC opener at FSU will be on October 4th, that means Miami will have a bye week on September 27th. So the Canes will play their 4 non-conference games, take a breather to reset, then begin the march through ACC play against their hated rivals a week later.
Also, as I’m sure you’ve noticed, Miami plays BOTH Florida and Florida State in a 3 week stretch from September 20th to October 4th. That will be a key portion of the schedule for Mario Cristobal’s Canes, and will be talked about by all big 3 fanbases one way or another.
The ACC will conclude their schedule releases on Monday, when the full ACC schedule for 2025 will be revealed. The matchups are known already — Miami will host Louisville, NC State, Stanford, and Syracuse, and go on the road to the aforementioned Florida State, Pitt, SMU, and Virginia Tech. We’ll find out exactly when those games will happen, and which northern school Miami will face on the road to conclude the season. My guess: Pitt.
We’ll be back with the full schedule release and our thoughts about the path Miami will have to traverse in 2025 on Monday. But for now, break out that calendar and save the date.
