The ACC game of the week.
Week 8 is on deck in the world of College Football, and Mario Cristobal’s Canes look to keep the momentum going.
Fresh off a much needed and well timed bye week, your Miami Hurricanes are back on the road for their next ACC game this Saturday. And, it’s one of the games everyone circled when the schedule came out: a road game against the Louisville Cardinals.

Miami has had two heart-stopping, come from behind victories in their last 2 games. Through half of the season, the Canes are undefeated at 6-0, and have everything to play for moving forward.
Louisville is an underrated but hated (by me) rival. They’ve looked at Miami as aspirational through the 90s and 2000s, have leveraged more than a few South Florida recruits to build their program, and hit on 2 of their best players ever in the last 15 years from down here: Teddy Bridgewater and Lamar Jackson. Louisville has won 4 of the last 6 against Miami, including a 38-31 victory of Miami last November.
This year, Miami is a measure better than Louisville, who still fancies themselves as having a chance to make it to the ACC Championship game for a second consecutive year. But, we know that anybody can get beaten on any Saturday, if they’re not ready.
Miami is looking to earn a bid to the ACC Championship game for the 2nd time…..ever. And, hopefully, continued championship level competition beyond that. But to get there, a win this week at Louisville would be a valuable, major step forward.
Louisville is playing their 5th consecutive game, and is fresh off a hard-fought win over Virginia 24-20 last weekend. As stated up top, Miami is coming off their first bye week and looks to push through the middle part of their schedule the same way they did the first half: undefeated.
That’s it. Two teams that don’t like each other, but are bound together by players (present and past), a legendary coach (RIP Howard Schnellenberger), and much more. It’ll be a great show this Saturday at noon, and you don’t want to miss it!
