Miami doesn’t play until damn near Sunday morning. So, let’s talk about the other games while we wait for the show.
Welcome back to College Football Saturday!
While your Miami Hurricanes are hanging out at the hotel, waiting for their late-night kickoff against Cal (10:30pm eastern), there are PLENTY of other games to enjoy while we wait for Cam Ward and company to take the field.
While you watch games from coast to coast today, hop in the comments and talk about the action as it happens.
Here in week 6, we’re fully into conference schedule season. These game are always good and fun and hotly contested. There will be plenty for you to watch and discuss.
Looking at the early slate, there are a few games of interest, both in the noon and 3:30pm windows. This Game Thread covers both of those, so you should be in for plenty of solid viewing during daylight hours today.
I’ll post a couple highlight games in daytime window, but the godfather of the CFB watch grid, Jason Kirk, posts his full list on his newsletter, which you can read here, and that should be something you’re checking out weekly. Anyways, a couple games to keep an eye on in the early window:
- #9 Missouri at #25 Texas A&M, Noon, ABC. The only game between ranked teams this week, Mizzou looks to keep the momentum going after a 12-win season last year, and aTm looks to use their physical size and strength advantage to get a big, big win.
- SMU at #22 Louisville, Noon, ESPN. Louisville has designs on an ACC Championship. They’ll be super motivated after losing at Notre Dame last week. SMU — with about 15 former Hurricanes — will look to make a statement on the road in their first season in the ACC.
- UCLA at #7 Penn State, Noon, Fox.
- Auburn at #5 Georgia, 3:30pm, ABC.
- #12 Ole Miss at South Carolina, 3:30pm, ESPN.
- There are a ton of ACC games in the Noon and 3:30pm windows in case you wanted to watch those as well. List in the watch grid link.
That’s the early schedule. Again, for the full list, click the link above.
Let’s talk some football until we’re back for the primetime window later. And that’s STILL before Miami takes the field late-night.
