There are ACC matchups all weekend long!
It’s all conference matchups except for one this week in the ACC. We have Thursday night, Friday night, and Saturday football. It’s also Miami Hurricanes vs Florida State Seminoles week. The opportunity for the Canes to eliminate the Noles from bowl eligibility is about as good as it gets.
Let’s do some rooting!
Matchup of the Week
Syracuse @ #19 Pittsburgh – 10/24 at 7:30 PM EST, TV – ESPN
I am writing this during the first quarter of this game and Syracuse quarterback Kyle McCord has already thrown three interceptions, with two of them being returned for touchdowns. Yikes. I guess it’ll be good if Pitt wins because Syracuse will pretty much be eliminated. Ugh. I can’t do it. I can’t root for Pitt. Let’s go Syracuse.
Louisville @ Boston College – 10/25 at 7:30 PM EST, TV – ESPN2
Louisville’s offense was really impressive against Miami last Saturday. They have talent at all their skill positions and Cardinals QB Tyler Shough can sling it all over the field. I still think they are one of the better teams in the ACC. Meanwhile, Boston College is struggling after their hot start to the season. Time for Bill O’Brien to lead the Eagles to a bounce-back win. Let’s go Boston College.
UNC @ Virginia – 10/25 at 12:00 PM EST, TV – CW
The Tar Heels are a mess this season, while the Cavaliers have been a revelation. I am fearful of Virginia being too overconfident for this game due to their success. I think this could be the sport for Mack Brown’s first conference win of the season. Let’s go UNC.
Georgia Tech @ Virginia Tech – 10/26 at 12:00 PM EST, TV – ACC Network
The battle of the Techs! The Yellow Jackets are still without their QB and leader Haynes King. The Hokies have started to figure it out after their devastating loss to Miami last month. Oh, did I bring up the Miami game again? My bad. I don’t really care who wins this game to be perfectly honest, but I can’t root for Virginia Tech. Let’s go Georgia Tech.
Wake Forest @ Stanford – 10/26 at 3:30 PM EST, TV – ACC Network
The Demon Deacons are climbing and the Cardinal are falling. This is a long trip for Wake, which makes me think it will be a close game. Wake has won two of three. Stanford has lost four in a row. I wonder how many people will watch this game. I wonder how many Wake Forest fans will be at the game. It can’t be many. Let’s go Wake Forest.
Oregon State @ Cal – 10/26 at 4:00 PM EST, TV – ESPN2
Throwback Pac-12 matchup! The Golden Bears have lost four in a row and need a win in the worst way. The Beavers have lost back-to-back games to Nevada and UNLV. Yikes. Question: Are Cal fans happy their school is in the ACC? I honestly have no idea. The travel for road games is insane, but you get to keep playing your rival Stanford, plus host exciting teams like Miami. I think Miami played at Cal this season. The Canes won, right? Haha! Let’s go Oregon State.
#21 SMU @ Duke – 10/26 at 8:00 PM EST, TV – ACC Network
Lashlee vs Diaz! The former Miami OC vs the former Miami DC and HC. SMU has had a great debut season in the ACC so far. Their offense is on fire and their defense makes plays and gets off the field when it matters. Duke only has one conference loss and just beat FSU for the first time in school history. This is a legitimately exciting matchup. It’s hard not to root for SMU with all the former Miami players on the team, but they’re undefeated in conference play. Let’s go Duke.
See you next week!
