Only five non-Miami matchups. Let’s go!
We’re ten weeks into the college football season already, if you include the stupidly named Week 0. Time flies when your team is undefeated. How fast does time move when your team is 1-7 and not going to a bowl game? You’d have to ask an FSU fan. Hey-o!
Let’s do some rooting.
Stanford @ NC State – 11/2 at 12:00 PM EST, TV – ACC Network
The Cardinal are a mess this season, but they do have an ACC win, something their bitter rival Cal cannot say. Traveling east again this weekend, I don’t like Stanford’s chances. The Wolfpack are starting to play better and have the more talented roster. That doesn’t matter though, I’d rather see the Cardinal pull off the upset. Let’s go Stanford.
Virginia Tech @ Syracuse – 11/2 at 12:00 PM EST, TV – CW
The Hokies are on fire lately. They finally look like the team they were supposed to be coming into the season. The more they win, the better Miami’s win over them looks. That said, I don’t know how I am supposed to root for a rival like Virginia Tech. I dislike them almost as much as Pitt. This season is too important though, and I want the Canes to get as much help as possible. Let’s go Virginia Tech.
UNC @ FSU – 11/2 at 3:30 PM EST, TV – ACC Network
The Tar Heels are favored by 2.5 points on DraftKings this weekend in Tallahassee. Just to be clear, UNC is 4-4, 1-3 in conference play. They had lost four games in a row before beating reeling Virginia last Saturday. THAT team is favored at Florida State. Wow. Just wow. I don’t pay attention to FSU Twitter, but it has got to be incredibly entertaining at the moment. Let’s go UNC.
Louisville @ #11 Clemson – 11/2 at 7:30 PM EST, TV – ESPN
If Clemson puts a beating on a better-than-their-record Louisville team, I will finally be ready to completely buy into the Tigers for this season. I’ve mentioned it in several articles, but the Cardinals have a high-powered offense and athletic defense. In theory, they should be able to cause problems for Dabo Swinney’s squad. I am looking forward to going back and forth between this matchup and the one below. Let’s go Louisville.
Matchup of the Week
#18 Pittsburgh @ #20 SMU – 11/2 at 8:00 PM EST, TV – ACC Network
I would not have guessed the November Pitt vs SMU matchup would be so huge for the ACC and beyond. The Panthers are playing with confidence on both sides of the ball. Same with the Mustangs. They are known for their high-powered offense, but their defense has been just as good lately. This is an easy one for me. Let’s go Miami of Texas aka SMU.
See you next week!
