The Miami-Virginia Tech game had a crazy ending on Friday night.
Virginia Tech quarterback Kyron Drones threw a hail mary to the end zone and the it was ruled a touchdown before the refs reversed the call and called it incomplete.
The review took about 5 minutes and as expected, every Virginia Tech fan is upset since that would’ve given the team a massive win.
Eddie Royal, who was a wide receiver at Virginia Tech but now works for ACC Network, blasted the officials after the game, calling it a “(expletive) joke.”
He followed that up with another tweet, calling the decision “expletive.”
“Why play the game if it’s already determined who they want to win…(expletive)!!” Royal tweeted.
He felt that the call should’ve stood since he didn’t think there was enough evidence to overturn the call.
Had the call stood, Virginia Tech would’ve gotten to 3-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play. Instead, Miami improved to 5-0 and continues to be in pole position to win the ACC and make the College Football Playoff.
It will definitely be a call that’s talked about all weekend and probably years to come among Hokie fans.
